How long do the results of Accent last?
I'm considering trying this treatment but have found little on this website about how long the results last which makes me wary. Is this the type of thing you have to do every month for the rest of your life? Or can you do a package of 6 treatments and with continued exercise and healthy eating, enjoy the benefits for years? Basically I'm asking whether it's a treatment or a cure?

Re: How long do the results of Accent last?
Hi Ellen,

How long the Accent results will last depends on multiple factors. In my experience, you can expect the following:

Body contouring: - if your weight is 100% stable, there is no reason to assume the problem area will reform. If you gain weight, the problem area will re-accumulate (this is the same thing we see with liposuction).

Cellulite: Cellulite is a condition – there is no cure and whoever tells you different, is lying. Cellulite occurs due to a variety of factors (hormonal, poor local circulation, fatty tissue accumulation, fibrosis of the little tethering bands – septae). The Accent XL treatment can improve the local circulation and reduce the accumulation of fatty tissue – but it can not prevent the problem from re-occurring (the hormonal influence and the septae issues remain). Maintenance is required – this varies on the severity. Most people need a single session every 6-12 months.

Skin tightening: The collagen which the body produces is natural collagen. But, like all tissue in our body, the new collagen ages as well. Most people find that their results last 1.5-3 years. Factors such as smoking, tanning & poor genetics towards aging increase the breakdown of the collagen. People can repeat their treatments as needed.

I hope you find this information useful and will help you make a decision.

Kind regards,
Diana
